Our Story

Magic Time Vinyl Festival is a unique event in this region, dedicated exclusively to music played from vinyl records. It is a fully analog festival where vinyl rules in all its sizes and speeds. The festival’s goal is to bring together vinyl lovers and DJs over two days and to showcase music that has almost been forgotten. Most of these songs you definitely won’t hear on the radio or TV, and forget about clubs or discos.

But that doesn’t mean the music is bad — on the contrary, even after 30 or 40 years, these tracks still sound exciting! However, under the flood of new commercial music, many have simply been lost in the avalanche of digital hyperproduction. We understand — times are changing, and it’s easier to click a mouse than to search for tiny grooves on black vinyl. Yet in that forest of instant offerings, quality often goes unnoticed, especially when it comes to music from the last century.

Old songs can be truly thrilling, and that’s exactly what we want to show at this festival. Our aim is to bring them back from oblivion, revive them, awaken nostalgia, get you dancing, and introduce younger generations to the richness and quality of music once enjoyed in these parts.

Vinyl is not just a sound carrier — it symbolizes a different way of life and a different way of listening to music. There is no “next” or “skip,” only Side A and Side B. No fast-forwarding or shuffling; listening to vinyl is a ritual, almost like a Japanese tea ceremony. “Come over and listen to records at my place” was a phrase that marked those old times and is hard to capture in today’s digital era.

Vinyl also represents musical evolutions — from jazz, twist, rock’n’roll, funk, disco, punk, and new wave to house and techno. From festivals in Opatija, Split, and San Remo to underground clubs at the end of the ‘80s. All of this we want to gather and present at this unique analog festival.

Even the festival’s location is special — held in the middle of summer on magical meadows by the Vrljika River, in the shade of old watermills and the legendary Perinuša. The natural surroundings, the clarity of the water, and the warm analog sound of vinyl will surely enchant you.
